Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the water, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined and smooth. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
